Indians celebrate Independence day with Great enthusiasm in Gulf

71st Independence day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotism across the UAE on Tuesday. The main functions were held at the Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai.

The occasion was celebrated at various Indian centers across the country, India’s ambassador to the UAE Navdeep suri has hoisted the flag in the premises of embassy.

A large crowd of Indian community, including workers from far-site has participated in the event, showing their love and respect to their motherland.

Reading the excepts from president of india’s address, delivered on the independence eve, The ambassador has highlighted their resolve in achieving a new India by 2022.

The ambassador has also highlighted the excellent relations between India and UAE, thanking many emirates and other foreign friends for their constant support and for wishing independence day.

He also informed about various new initiatives taken on by the mission for betterment of Indian community’s welfare, mainly of workers working in far away sites.

He also informed them about “Open House” policy of the mission under which any Indian can meet any official of embassy without appointment between 9a.m to 12 noon every working day.

Members from Indian communities and students studying in Abu Dhabi sang patriotic songs and performed dances and other cultural programs.

Addressing about 600 members of Indian community, the consul General announced that the consulate, will organize 70 events in next one year celebrating 70 years of independent India.
