Apple Fitness+ made its debut in India on Monday. This service for health and fitness from the tech company based in Cupertino aims to assist users during their exercise routines. Those with a subscription can access workout videos led by trainers, monitor their workout statistics in real-time, and receive rewards for achieving their fitness objectives, all within the Apple Fitness app. After its launch in India, Apple Fitness+ is now accessible in 49 countries around the globe. This fitness service operates on a subscription basis for Apple users, costing Rs. 149 each month. Users can also choose an annual option, which is priced at Rs. 999 per year. However, this service is not included in the Apple One package, so it must be subscribed to individually. According to the company, an Apple Fitness+ subscription can be shared with as many as five additional family members. Apple is offering a free one-month trial for Fitness+ so that users can test the service before committing to a subscription.
The company further states that customers who buy a new Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, AirPods Pro 3, or Powerbeats Pro 2 from Apple or an authorized reseller will receive a complimentary three-month Apple Fitness+ subscription, given that their devices can support the latest software. Apple mentions that Fitness+ caters to up to 12 different exercise types, such as meditation, strength training, yoga, kickboxing, cycling, and mindful cooldowns. The workout sessions vary from five to 45 minutes, providing guidance. While Apple Fitness+ is compatible with an iPhone, users can also utilize their Apple Watch or AirPods Pro 3 to monitor their individual metrics like heart rate, calories burned, and progress on Activity Rings. Through the Apple Fitness+ app, users have the ability to create workout schedules tailored to their preferences. They can choose from existing plans and modify them as needed or create unique plans based on their favorite activities, duration, preferred days, trainers, and more.
The Apple Fitness+ app is connected to the Apple Music app, enabling users to enjoy music styles such as Hip-Hop, R&B, Latin Grooves, and other lively tracks for motivation during their workouts. For meditation, the app includes 12 themes, covering Calm, Sleep, and Sound, with straightforward techniques to assist users in recharging and enjoying moments of mindfulness throughout their day. Additionally, Apple’s Fitness+ service features the ‘Time to Walk’ experience on iPhone and Apple Watch. According to the company, this has been created to encourage individuals to walk more frequently. This experience includes stories, images, and songs selected by notable figures such as artists Daddy Yankee, Camila Cabello, and Shawn Mendes, actors Simu Liu and Jane Fonda, and Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda.
