An Indian businessman, who owns Abu Dhabi-based retail major, has entered into 110m pound deal with a developer in London to construct a 5-star hotel at the iconic Great Scotland Yard, the original headquarters of Metropolitan Police in the British capital, London.
As per the deal between Lulu Group International and Galliard Homes, a 92,000 sq ft 5-star hotel will be built within a refurbished Edwardian building.
To the managing director of LULU Group International, Yusuffali MA, who previously invested in East India Company, this is the second investment.
The hotel is expected to accommodate restaurants, luxury bedrooms, library, lobby/lounge and private meeting, entertaining and dining rooms. The seven storyed building with two basement levels will incorporate an adjoining Grade 2 Listed Victorian townhouse.
Lulu group hospitality arm, Twenty14 Holdings, managing director Adeeb Ahamed said, “We are extremely pleased to have concluded this deal for the iconic Scotland Yard building. We have been actively evaluating investment opportunities that both grow our footprint and contribute to the further development of London and our interest in the iconic Great Scotland Yard is a step in that direction.”
Scheduled to open in Q1 2017, the hotel will employ up to 250 full time staff.
