Fresh mortar attacks by Houthi rebels killed an Indian and injured three others in Jizan region of Saudi Arabia. This is the second time that an Indian is killed due to heavy shelling in three days.

Yesterday the incident happened at Samta town in the region. According to a Saudi Gazette report, an area nearby Samta General Hospital was bombarded by Houthi rebels. The Indian killed in the incident was Vishnu. He hailed from Kerala and worked with a shop of cell phones in Samta.

Other who has sustained injuries in the shelling are Waleed Ahmed and Munir Ahmed, Saghir Ahmed, belonging to Jammu and Kashmir. The injured are recuperating at the hospital. Additionally, a Yemeni and two Egyptians were also injured.

Yesterday’s shelling was termed as ‘the worst’ in two days, an official said. On Friday, an Indian was killed while two more injured in the same region.

The attack was reported to a part of retaliatory measures by Yemen against Saudi Arabia over unabated military campaign by Riyadh in the Arab country.
