
Saudi Arabia's king, Salman announced on Friday that,a bridge over the Red Sea, linking the country to Egypt will be constructed. The bridge will enhance commerce between the two allies, King Salman said.
The announcement comes out during second day of his five-day trip to Egypt.Salman said that, “I agreed with my brother his excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to build a bridge connecting the two countries.”
“This historic step to connect Africa and Asia is a qualitative transformation that will increase trade between the two continents,” he added.
President Sisi, suggested naming the bridge the “King Salman bin Abdel Aziz Bridge”. Sisi said it marked "a new chapter on the road of Arab joint action".
