Saudi police arrested Indian 'for insult to Kaaba'

An Indian immigrant has been arrested by the Saudi Arabia police for allegedly disrespecting Islams holy Kaaba site on Facebook. The man covered it with an image of Buddha, media reported.

A Riyadh police spokesman said that, “The region’s investigative department were able to capture and arrest a suspect, in his forties and who works in agriculture, who insulted our holy site.”

Al-Arabiya reported, “He superimposed a picture of the Buddha on the Kaaba and posted on social media,” the spokesman said/

According to the Saudi Police, they were able to identify and arrest the unnamed Indian at a farm in Al Majmaah city in the province of Riyadh.

The Kaaba is Islam’s most sacred place. It is an ancient monument at the centre of the Al-Masjid al-Haram mosque in Mecca.
