A man in Dubai was sentenced to three months in prison for threatening to kill his wife and physically abuse her in front of their son after an altercation.

The Dubai Court of First Instance convicted the 44-year-old Dominican husband for threatening his 41-year-old wife, to kill her and physically assault her in front of their son following an altercation.

Presiding judge Mohammad Jamal has referred the husband and wife to Dubai Misdemeanours Court, where a trial will be held for disgracing each other in front of their son and exchanging slurs in June 2016.

The husband was not present in court trial.

In her capacity as she was the victim, the Dominican wife said that her husband threatened her, beat her and abusive language calling her with bad names.

She said that” Her husband assaulted her physically and called her a bad woman and cursed her mother and sister.

She also said that her husband threatened her to kill her, if she reported to the police that he had assaulted her.

The Couple’s son stated that “He heard his father threatening to kill his mother. He also heard that his father would go to Iran and kill his mother’s family and also him if his mother tried reporting to the police. Then he heard a loud sound and his mum fell from the stairs and then he heard her shouting”.

The couple will be appearing before the Misdemeanours Court soon
