Terrorists attack Army, three soldiers killed

Terrorists attacked a joint search team of the Army and police at Mulu Chitragam, 60km south of Srinagar.

Three soldiers were martyred and another three were injured as militant attacked a search-and-cordon team in Shopian on Thursday morning.

In the crossfire, one civilian was also killed.

A spokesperson for Srinagar police said that a joint search team of army and police was ambushed by terrorists at Mulu Chitragam in Shopian, 60 km south of Srinagar at about 2 am today.

“The attack resulted in injuries to six army personnel, including two officers, of whom three succumbed to their injuries,” said the police spokesman.

The army personnel belonged to 44 Rashtriya Rifles, they were returning from an operation at Kungnoo Shopian when the terrorists opened fire.

The police identified the woman as Taja, she was hit by a stray bullet inside her house during the crossfire. The spokesperson said that Taja succumbed to her injuries.
