Meghna Savit, a 17-year-old girl who hails from India has come out on top across the United Arab Emirates in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exams.
Savit, who is a student of the Indian High School (IHS) Dubai not only secured the top results in the country, but also clinched a record breaking score among the girls in her school.
By securing an impressive 98.4% in the Science stream, the bright student has now set a new record among Indian High School girls by crossing over the 98% mark.
In 2015 and 2016 two female students achieved the 98% mark in the Science stream, but Savit has now topped that record.
In an interview with Khaleej Times, Savit said that she still could not believe that she is UAE topper.
"My father actually broke the news to me at about 10am this morning. I was taking a shower but when he told me the score, I thought he was kidding."
The “sense of surprise” continued as she received a call from her school, declaring her the nations’s highest topper in the CBSE exams.
Coming out on top across the country, she beat off competition for the title against approximately ,000 students who appeared for CBSE exams in the UAE.
"I just kept checking and checking to make sure it was right. Being called to the principal's office is always daunting, but this time it was for a very good reason," her father cracked a joke.
Savit celebrated her achievement with a family dinner. But with schooling days coming to an end, she said that her next stop is to go on and study in India.
"I plan on going to India to get admission to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) or the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)." Savit’s long-term dream is to start her own company.
We wish for her bright future and prosperity in her life.
