Two days before the United States and Iran finalize their agreement to end a lengthy conflict, President Donald Trump mentioned that if he is unhappy with the contents of the deal, the US will resume attacks on Iran. While speaking to journalists at the G7 Summit in France with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Trump remarked on Wednesday that the arrangement between the US and Iran is “not set in stone. ”
“It’s a memorandum of understanding. If I disapprove, we’ll return to targeting them, bombing them,” Trump stated. He further commented, “If I’m not satisfied, and if they misbehave, we will immediately resume bombing them hard. ” Nevertheless, during this discussion, Trump expressed that the US-Iran framework agreement is “very solid. ” “No one really knows what it contains, but it is very solid,” he stated. The Republican leader noted that since the announcement of the US-Iran framework, the markets are “extremely pleased,” and that the Strait of Hormuz will be completely open a “day or two” after the agreement is signed.
“What is really exciting is the [stock] market, which has surged. It’s soared high. And oil prices have dropped significantly,” Trump stated. “That speaks more than any words can.” Trump also criticized former US President Barack Obama, claiming he “bribed” Iran with a large sum of money sent during the 2015 nuclear deal. “The JCPOA created by Obama: he gave them $1.7 billion in cash, green cash from banks, loaded into a Boeing 757 and flown into Iran. And they stood by the plane; I have photos of it, ‘oh my god, look at this money he's giving us,’” Trump told reporters at the summit. “He attempted to bribe his way out of situations. I did not do that… Do you know what the Iranians did? They laughed at Obama and called him a foolish man.”
