Indian employee in UAE fired for abusing Indian Journalist

An Indian employee working in a UAE based company has been sacked for abusing an Indian journalist Rana Ayyub on Facebook.

Bincylal Balachandran, hailing from Kolkata was working in Dubai for Alpha Paint, which is a sister company of National Paints in Sharjah since 2015.

The case came to light, when the journalist based in New Delhi took Twitter to post the screenshots of vulgar messages sent by Balachandran. Some of her followers took the matter to the management of the UAE Company, where Balachandran worked.

The 31-year-old joined Alpha Paint in Dubai in 2015. He worked there as a customer service employee.

He sent abusive messages with sexual overtones to the Indian journalist on Facebook messenger.

Ayyub tweeted on April 6th saying “Just a sample of the filth I receive on my Facebook page. Time to name and shame this pervert.”

The human resource manager of Alpha Paint, Shadi Al Refai said that the company received the complaint on April 7th from a person, who alleged that one of the staff members abused a lady on Facebook.

The complaint was made through email, which included a copy of the abuse message sent by Bincylal Balachandran.

Shadi Al Refai said that the company had verified the accuracy of the information and checked on the name of the person. On 8th April 8 a.m. the termination order of Balachandran was issued.

The company’s management summoned Balachandran, who confessed the cybercrime and promised not to repeat his action.

“When we checked on his Facebook account, we saw the abusive message which was sent to that lady in addition to offensive posts against Islam,” he said.
