
India and United Arab Emirates are going to collaborate for exchanging and sharing of knowledge and cooperation in the field of transportation technologies, transport policies for the passenger and freight vehicle movements on roads.
The union cabinet has approved the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between both the countries on bilateral cooperation in the road, transport and highways sector to be signed between the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, India and the Federal Transport Authority – Land and Maritime, UAE.
Administration, management and planning of road infrastructure will be included along with technology and standards for highway construction and its maintenance.
The proposed Memorandum of Understandings has increased the cooperation, collaboration and exchange between India and UAE, and it will also contribute to increase investment in infrastructure development and enlarge the logistics efficiency.
Ministry officials said that this collaboration will promote safety, economical, efficient, and environmental sound transport in India and it will further develop both the countries in creating an institutional mechanism for cooperation in the field.
India and UAE will cooperate in the sharing of the information and also practice for developing road safety plans and intervention strategies and outreach activities aim at reducing deaths and injuries from road accidents.
The officials also said that sharing of knowledge and practices in user related issues, which included modern systems, new technologies and methods and collection including electronic toll collection system
