The addition of Artificial Intelligence to smartphones has gradually opened up a brand new range of opportunities. For example, in mobile cameras, AI has significantly enhanced photo quality since it has been integrated, and tools like Gemini have sped up common tasks, while AI-based editing has lessened our need for other apps. But Samsung is aiming to go further. At VivaTech 2026, the company is venturing into completely new areas with an AI-based pet care solution created in collaboration with the startup Lifet. This feature enables users to simply snap a picture of their pet, which is then analyzed by AI. The technology can identify possible health concerns, pointing out signs of dental issues, patellar luxation, or cataracts, offering pet owners a smarter way to monitor their furry friends. If you own a Galaxy device and wish to use this feature, you must download the SmartThings app along with the Pet Care service onto your smartphone. It’s also important to mention that Lifet is not a completely unfamiliar name in this area. The startup, which is involved in Samsung's external startup support program, already provides AI-based pet photo analysis on its own website. If precision is crucial, the company assures that it is well handled. Lifet claims to recognize the above health conditions with a remarkable accuracy rate of 97%.

Samsung intends to leverage AI, interconnected devices, and partnerships to shift healthcare from reactive treatment to more attentive everyday observation. The company is uniting its collection of Galaxy smartphones, Galaxy Watches, smart home gadgets, and the Samsung Health platform to form a more connected method to personal well-being. Besides pet care, Samsung also emphasized other AI-enhanced health features at the event. The company highlighted how Samsung Health is growing across many areas, such as sleep, physical activity, nutrition, mental health, and vital signs. New features like Heart Health Score, Vitals monitoring, and upgraded workout metrics are intended to assist users in better understanding their health patterns. Samsung also illustrated how its connected care ecosystem could extend beyond personal gadgets. Through its partnership with Xealth, a digital health platform, the company is looking into ways to link Galaxy devices with healthcare services, enabling doctors and patients to track health information outside of traditional medical environments.
